Fog lights

  • 1 - Front bumper
  • 2 - Fog light housing
  • 3 - Mounting bolts, 1.5 Nm
  • 4 - Left fog lamp bulb "L22" or right fog lamp bulb "L23". Bulb H11 12 V, 55 W


Instructions: The front bumper trim in the Tiguan, depending on the configuration, is installed in two versions with different angles of inclination (18° and 28°). Removal and installation of the fog lamp or fog lamp is carried out in the same way for both versions. To remove and install the left fog lamp "L22" or the right fog lamp "L23", it is not necessary to remove the fog lamp. The lamp is replaced through the service flap in the wheel arch.


Fault detection and error indication



The on-board network control system is equipped with a self-diagnosis function, which facilitates troubleshooting of fog lights. To troubleshoot, use the tester -VAS 5051A- in the "Guided troubleshooting" mode.

Unscrew the three bolts securing the "arrow" and remove the fog light housing from the bumper.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque. Check the functionality of the fog lamp. Check the adjustment of the fog lamps, adjust if necessary.

Removal and installation the fog light bulb



Instructions: To remove and install the left fog lamp bulb "122" or the right fog lamp bulb "123", it is not necessary to remove the fog lamp. The bulb is replaced through the service flap in the wheel well. The pictures show removal and installation on the left fog lamp.


Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers, remove the ignition key. Unscrew the bolt "arrow" in the wheel well and open the service flap "1".

Unlock and disconnect plug connector "1". Rotate the socket with the fog lamp bulb "1" in the -direction of the arrow- and remove it from the headlight. The fog lamp bulb is firmly fixed in the socket and cannot be replaced separately. Fog lamp bulb: H11 12 V, 55 W.
