Please note! The valve seats of the DV 1 G and DW 1 S engines differ from the seats of the other three engines by their new grinding dimensions.
Control (motors DV 1 G and DW 1 S)
Before grinding, it is necessary to calculate the maximum permissible thickness of the layer to be removed, since if it is exceeded, the correct operation of the tappets with hydraulic valve clearance relief is not ensured. In this case, replace the head.
- Install the valve and support the plate in the seat. Using a straight edge, measure the distance between the end of the valve stem and the bottom of the straight edge. The maximum distance should be: Inlet valve: 35.8 mm Exhaust valve: 36.1 mm
Valve seats can be removed in several ways, such as using a worn valve:
- Sharpen the edges of the worn valve disc to reduce the diameter by approximately 4 mm and install the valve in the removable seat as for normal installation.
- Weld the valve to the seat in several places (electric welding)
- Turn the head 180° and press the valve together with the seat on the press. Make sure the press mandrel is perpendicular to the head to avoid damaging the valve guides.
You can also:
- Make several 1 cm long rivets with an electric riveter at several points on the saddle. Do not touch the head. This results in a narrowing of the valve seat relative to its opening. Then you should quickly remove the saddle.
- Clean the valve seat bore thoroughly. Before installing new seats, measure the seat hole diameter.
- Before installing the saddles, allow them to cool for a few minutes and then install them in the holes.
- Check that each seat is correctly positioned in its hole.
The actions described above must be performed quickly.
- Regrind the saddles.
- If the valve guides are also to be replaced, then the valve seat grinding is performed last.
