Removal the engine (VW Lt 28)

• Remove the seats and engine cover and disconnect the braided cable from the battery.
• Drain the cooling system and then remove the lower cooler air intake.
• Disconnect the coolant, fan and air jet wires.
• Disconnect the drive shaft from the drive axle, then remove it from the gearbox and close the hole.
• Remove the exhaust pipe connection and protective screen.
• Disconnect the stabilizer link from the body and lower it as far as possible.
• Disconnect the clutch cable from the lever next to the gearbox, remove the cap with the return spring and unscrew the cable adjuster.
• Unscrew the engine gearbox mounting screws.

Caution: It is recommended to lift the engine using a lift (type of crane), hoist or wooden wedge until it is suspended.

• Disconnect the braided cord of the mixture, located under the gearbox, from the body.
• On the left side of the gearbox, remove the gear shift mechanism mounting bearing.
• Disconnect and remove the speedometer cable, close the hole to prevent oil leakage.
• Make sure the engine is securely supported on the engine mount, remove the rear gearbox mount (metal belt) and remove the rear mounting bolts.
• Remove the gearbox.
• Disconnect the coolant wire from the rear of the engine and the two temperature sensor wires.

Caution: For engines with the SR 11.82 designation, the included air filter and expansion tank must be removed.

• Disconnect the fuel pump controls: accelerator and engine lock, as well as the fuel supply and outlet wires.
• Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.
• Disconnect the electrical wires from the locking device, glow plugs, oil pressure sensor and starter.
• Remove and take out the oil filter from below.
• Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the two manifolds and the turbocharger.
• Suspend the engine, lift it slightly and unscrew the console mounting screws.
• Raise the engine in the cabin and remove it.
