Removing
Removing the oil pump is possible without removing the engine.
Remove rear engine cover (see section "Removal and installation of a back protective cover of the engine").
Remove V-belt pulley (see section "V-belt pulley replacement").
Remove the protective cover under the V-belt pulley.
Loosen the 4 nuts securing the oil pump cover.
Remove the oil pump cover together with the seal and remove the gears.
Remove the oil pump housing by lightly tapping with a rubber mallet.
Examination
Before installation, check the wear of the oil pump housing and gear bearing journals. The worn surfaces in the housing lead to a loss of oil pressure.
Check the rigidity of the fit of the short axes of the gears installed in the housing; if necessary, replace the housing.
Check the axial play of the oil pump gears. To do this, put a steel ruler on the body and use a feeler gauge to check the gap. It should not exceed 0.1 mm.
Check the pump cover for signs of wear; grind the worn cover or replace it.
Check the mounting surface on the crankcase for the oil pump housing for damage and cleanliness.
Installation
Install the oil pump housing with a new seal and insert the gears.
Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions so that the camshaft completes one revolution and drives the gears. This will keep the gears centered in the pump housing.
Install the pump cover with a new gasket and tighten the M8 nuts to 25 Nm (2.5 kgcm), without changing the position of the pump housing.
Install the guard under the V-belt pulley.
Install V-belt pulley.
Install the rear engine cover.
