Removal and installation the water pump (VW Passat B6)

Due to the change in the water pump belt pulley mounting bolts, the fixture should be filed down three roundings and a minimum of a = 1 mm should be removed.

Note: The integral water pump gasket must not be separated from the pump.

Note: If damaged or leaky, the water pump assembly with the gasket should be replaced.

Removal

Drain the coolant.

Remove the front right fender liner.

Remove the poly V-belt.

Remove the water pump belt pulley

Remove the water pump mounting bolts

Remove the water pump from the cylinder block.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following:

Insert the water pump into the cylinder block.

Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

Tighten the water pump belt pulley to a tightening torque of 20 Nm.

Install the poly V-belt.

Install the front right fender liner.

Fill with coolant.
