Removal and installation the rear light in the side of the body (VW Passat B6)

Contents: Removal ↓ Installation ↓
The rear light in the side of the body cannot be disassembled any further. It contains the following components:
  • tail light bulbs;
  • brake light bulbs;
  • rear direction indicator lamps.

Removal



Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and turn the key to position 0 (preliminary stop).

Note: The illustrations show removal and installation on the left side. Removal and installation on the right side are similar.


Note: Put the ignition key of the remote control in the vehicle interior during removal and installation to avoid locking the doors and self-activation of the functions "Coming Home/ Leaving Home (Arriving Home/ Leaving Home)".

Unlock service cover 1 in the direction of the arrow from the side panel 2 (Fig. 7.87).

Unlock plug 2 by pulling locking button 3 in the direction of the arrow and remove the plug from the rear light (Fig. 7.88).

Unscrew the fastening nuts 1 and remove the rear light downwards from the side of the body.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following.

Tighten the fastening nuts 3 to the specified torque (Fig. 7.88).

Note: When connecting plug 2 of the rear light to the side of the body, a click should be "heard".


The plug is installed correctly when the locking button 3 is pressed back in.
