Removal
Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and turn the key to position 0 (preliminary stop).

Remove the mounting bolts 1 from the license plate light (Fig. 7.89).
Carefully pry the license plate light out of the bumper cover socket using a suitable screwdriver.

Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (Fig. 7.90).

Remove the diffuser 1 using a suitable screwdriver in the direction of the arrow from the license plate light housing 2 (Fig. 7.91).
Note: When removing the diffuser, ensure that the seal between the diffuser and the backlight housing is not damaged.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following.
When installing the license plate light, ensure that the diffuser seal is seated correctly.
