Removal

1. Open the hood and place a clean rag under the corners of the hood to protect the vehicle's paintwork when removing the hood.

2. Disconnect the hose from the washer nozzle and the electrical connectors. Tie a thin long cord to the hose and electrical connector. Pull the electrical wiring and hose out of the hood and untie the cord from them, leaving it in the hood. Later, you will need the cord to pull the electrical wiring and hose into the hood.

3. Using a marker, mark the position of the hinges on the hood.

4. Have an assistant hold the hood open and detach the air hood support from the hood. To do this, use a screwdriver blade to lift the spring clip and remove the upper part of the support from the spherical hinge on the hood. If you need to remove the air hood support from the car, remove the lower part of the support in the same way, see Fig. Location and fastening of the air hood support.

5. When removing the bonnet air support, do not completely remove the spring clip from the ball joint, otherwise the spring clip will be deformed and the air support will have to be replaced.

6. If a new air support is to be installed, the gas must be removed from the old support to dispose of it. To do this, secure the supports in a vice by section X, shown in Fig. Section X of the support, by which the support must be clamped in a vice. To avoid an accident, be sure to clamp the support by the specified section. Saw the body of the air support at a distance equal to 1/3 of the length. When sawing the support, use glasses to protect your eyes.

7. Remove the screws securing the hood hinge cover and remove the cover.

8. Unscrew the bolts securing the left and right hood hinges and carefully remove the hood.

9. Check the condition of the hood hinges for play and wear and replace them if necessary.

Installation

1. Using two assistants, install the hood and tighten the hood hinge bolts by hand. Align the hood hinges with the marks you made earlier and tighten the hood hinge bolts.

2. Secure the pneumatic strut to the hood by pressing the strut firmly until it locks onto the hood's spherical hinge.

3. Attach the electrical connector and washer hose to the cord and pull them into the hood.

4. Place the hose onto the windshield washer nozzles.
