Elements of fastening of the lock of a back door on the Universal models

- 7 - license plate base,
- 8 - thrust,
- 9 - rear door lock,
- 10 - bolt, 25 Nm,
- 11 - executive engine of the central locking system,
- 12 - executive engine for opening the rear door lock,
- 13 - nut, 7 Nm,
- 14 - lever
Warning: The lock cylinder can only be removed from the vehicle together with bracket 1.
Warning: Installation of blind nuts 6 is carried out using VW-1765A pliers for riveting blind nuts.
Removing the rear door lock cylinder bracket
- 1 - nuts,
- 2 - thrust
The arrows indicate the connectors that need to be disconnected.
Using a screwdriver to open the safety clip
- 1 - lever
Removing
1. Remove an internal upholstery of a back door.
2. Disconnect the electric sockets shown by arrows on fig. Remove rear door lock cylinder bracket.
3. Remove the rear door lock drive rod.
4. Unscrew the nuts (1), see fig. Remove rear door lock cylinder bracket.
5. Using a screwdriver blade, release the safety clip and hold it in this position, see fig. Using a screwdriver to open the safety clip.
6. Remove the bracket with the lock cylinder from the rear door handle plate.
Installation
1. Lock the safety bracket.
2. Insert the lock cylinder into the bracket.
3. Install the bracket with the lock cylinder on the rear door handle plate and fasten them until they are clearly fixed.
4. screw nuts (1), see fig. Remove rear door lock cylinder bracket.
5. Install the rear door lock rod.
6. Connect previously disconnected electrical connectors.
7. Install the tailgate interior trim.
