Removal and installation the rear door lock POLO (VW Polo 4)

• Remove the lock cylinder housing "5" from the bracket
• Vehicles with central locking system: Disconnect the plug connector of the central locking actuator motor.
• Unscrew bolts "4" and remove the bracket from the rear door.

• Tighten the bracket mounting bolts to the rear door to a torque of 8 Nm, first tightening the 2 inner bolts "4".
• Further installation is carried out in reverse order.

• Remove bracket "1" from the rear door
• Remove the opener from the rear door.

• Installation is carried out in reverse order.

• Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the battery.

Attention: Follow the instructions given in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".

• Open the rear door and remove the rear door lower trim, see next chapter.
• Vehicles with central locking system: Disconnect the plug connector at the lock cylinder housing.
• Unfasten rod "6".
• Using a screwdriver, press the locking bracket "2" and remove the lock cylinder housing from bracket "1".

• Press the locking clip back and secure it.
• Place the lock cylinder body and fix it in the bracket with an audible click.
• Further installation is carried out in reverse order.

• Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the battery.

Attention: Follow the instructions given in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".

• Open the rear door and remove the lower rear door trim, see next chapter.
• Disconnect the lock plug.
• Unfasten rod "6".
• Unscrew the bolts "8" and remove the lock from the rear door.

• Installation is carried out in the reverse order and only with the lock latch fixed.
• Tighten the bolts securing the lock to the rear door to a torque of 23 Nm.

Note: The illustration shows the rear door lock for vehicles without central locking. For vehicles with central locking, screw the actuator motor to bracket "1". To remove the actuator motor, first remove the bracket from the rear door.
