Removal

In the driver's footwell, pull back "arrow A" lever "1" of the engine compartment hood lock cable drive.
Using a screwdriver, pull out and release clamp "2" a little. Remove the cable drive lever.
POLO: remove lower trim of the A-pillar from the driver's side.
POLO: remove on-board electrical system control unit.
POLO: remove windshield wiper motor.
Disconnect the cable rod "3" from the support bracket "4" of the cable drive lever.
Disconnect the cable from the hood lock, see previous chapter.

Squeeze the sealing inserts "2", "4" out of the partitions and release the cable traction from the holders "3" in the engine compartment.
Tie a cord to the nipple of the cable traction at the drive lever, pull the cable traction from the engine compartment side out of the car interior and remove it.
Note: The cord is used to facilitate subsequent assembly.
Installation
Place the sealing inserts on the new cable, tie a cord to the cable and pull the cable traction into the passenger compartment.
Press the sealing inserts into the partitions, ensuring their correct installation position.
Secure the cable traction to the holders in the engine compartment.
Further installation is carried out in reverse order.
Finally, push the clamp into the cable drive lever and press it into the support bracket.
