POLO



Remove the front bumper cover, see the relevant chapter above.

Remove the front wheel arch trim, see next chapter.

Remove the side turn signal light.

Remove the side turn signal light.


Remove 10 screws "2". 3 - wing bracket, 4 - bracket mounting bolts.

Heat up the wing "1" in the contact areas in the A-pillar area with a technical hair dryer and remove. If necessary, separate the PVC material with a knife. An assistant is required to perform this work.

Note: PVC material is easy to heat and does not take long to heat. There should be no color change or blistering. If PVC is heated too much, toxic gas is released.


Installation



If necessary, coat the wing with varnish.

Place a zinc gasket, such as VW-AKL-381-035-50 or SEAT-KR-004-30903, in the screw mounting area.

Place the wing and level the gaps in the joints.

Prescribed values for joint gaps/POLO:
  • Wing - Engine Compartment Hood/Front Door 3.0+1,0 mm
  • Wing - bumper cover from 0.4 to 1.1 mm

Screw the wing on with screws.

Install the side turn signal light.

Install the front wheel arch trim.

Install the front bumper cover, see the relevant chapter above.

Note: Removal and installation are performed in the same way as for ROJ. After removing the bumper cover and wheel arch trim, it is necessary to remove the intermediate bracket between the wing and the wheel arch trim on the right and left.

Unscrew screws "2" and remove intermediate bracket "3" from the wing. 1 - self-locking nuts.

When installing, place the intermediate bracket against the edge of the wing and put it on the studs. Screw the intermediate bracket.

Prescribed joint clearance values/IBIZA:
  • Wing - hood of the engine compartment from 3 to 4 mm
  • Wing - Front Door 3mm
  • Wing - bumper cover from 0.4 to 1.1 mm
