Removing
Note: The bumper consists of a casing and a bumper beam.
Open the engine compartment hood.
Remove the radiator grille, see the relevant chapter below.
Depending on version, pull cover -13- out of bumper cover -1- and unfasten it from headlight washer jet nozzle.
Unscrew 4 screws -6- and detach bumper cover from wheel housing trim.
Detach ventilation grilles -10/11- from bumper cover on right and left.
Pull out 4 spacer clips -8-.
Disconnect the connectors for the air temperature sensor and fog lamps, if any.
Remove screws -2- and -12-
With the help of an assistant, pull the bumper cover horizontally forwards out of the guides -5- and remove.
Unscrew 2 screws and 3 hexagon bolts on the right and left each and remove the bumper carrier from the side members of the vehicle.
Installation
Screw the bumper beam to the side members. Tighten the 3 bolts on the right and left to 30 Nm.
Together with an assistant, insert the bumper cover into the guides. At the same time, make sure that the bumper cover enters the guides evenly and does not warp. Fasten the bumper cover with screws.
Connect the plug connectors of the air temperature sensor and fog lights, if any.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order.
