External door opening handle (VW Passat B5)

External door handle fastening elements

• 1 - retainer,
• 2 - handle,
• 3 - door lock control lever

Removal

1. Remove the front door lock cylinder housing.

2. Release the lock (1) of the door opening handle.

3. Move the outside door handle slightly to remove it from the door.

Installation

1. If necessary, move it to the sides to install the outer door opening handle on the door.

2. Press the door opening handle against the door and, passing the retainer (1) into the door groove, secure it to the door opening handle.

3. When installing the lock (1), do not move the lock control lever (3).

4. Install the lock cylinder housing onto the door.
