Checking and adjusting the idle switch on the RV engine (VW Passat B4)

Disconnect the idle and full load switches. Connect an ohmmeter to terminals "1" and "2" (fig. 2-106) switch pads. Resistance on the ohmmeter should be 0 Ohm (the switch contacts are closed). Open the throttle valve fully and, slowly closing it, measure with feeler gauge 2 the gap between the throttle valve control lever and the idle stop at the moment the switch contact switches (at the moment of current passage), which should be within 0.2-0.6 mm.



If necessary, adjust the gap by changing the position of the idle switch 3.
