Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the generator. Disconnect the hoses from the water pump. Loosen the pump mounting bolts. Remove the pump. Remove the sealing cuff, which cannot be reused.
Thoroughly clean the surfaces to which the cuff is attached. Install a new sealing cuff. Install the water pump on the cylinder block. Tighten the pump mounting bolts. Connect the hoses to the water pump. Install the generator. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the storage battery. Fill the system with coolant.
To disassemble and assemble the water pump, remove the pump drive pulley.
Loosen the bolts securing the pump cover and remove it together with the bushing, shaft and impeller, detach the cover from the gasket plane using light blows from a plastic mallet. Loosen the thermostat nipple and remove the thermostat with the sealing cuff (Fig. 2-30).

The pump cover is integral with the bearing and cannot be separated from it; if a fault is detected, they are replaced as a set. Install the pump housing gasket, having previously applied sealant. Assemble the pump in the reverse order of disassembly.
On cars manufactured in 1995-1996 equipped with air conditioning, a three-speed electric fan is used. The third speed of the electric fan is switched on by a sensor installed on the coolant outlet hose from the cylinder head on the left. The temperature of switching on the electric fan motor by the third sensor is 110-115°C. The switching off temperature is 105-110°C.
