Starting a gasoline carburetor engine
Cold engine. Press the accelerator pedal once fully. If the ambient temperature is below 0°C, press the pedal twice.
Turn on the starter. If the engine does not start after 10 seconds of starter operation, turn off the ignition, wait 30 seconds and try to start again.
At high negative ambient temperatures, maintain stable idle speed for some time by pressing the accelerator pedal.
Hot engine. When turning on the starter, smoothly press the accelerator pedal all the way down and release it immediately after the engine starts.
Overheated engine. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down without pumping it and leave it in this position.
Turn on the starter.
Release the pedal immediately after starting the engine.
Starting a petrol engine with a fuel injection system
Cold or hot engine. Turn on the starter without pressing the accelerator pedal. If the ambient temperature is below 0°C, disengage the clutch before turning on the starter.
