Opening the hood (VW Passat B4)

Pull the hood lock release handle located on the left under the instrument panel (Fig. 3).

Stand in front of the car, put your hand under the slightly open hood, press the safety hook to the right (Fig. 4) and open the hood. Remove the hood stop from the socket and insert the stop hook into the socket on the hood (Fig. 5). To close the hood, remove the stop hook from the socket, place the stop into the socket, lower the hood to a height of 30 cm and release it. If the lock does not work, do not press on the hood, but again open the hood to the specified height and release it.
