The cooling system is filled with a mixture of water and antifreeze VAG G-011-VBC all year round. In addition to lowering the freezing point of the coolant, G-011-VBC prevents the formation of rust and corrosion, salt deposits and, in addition, increases the boiling point of the coolant. Due to the expansion of the liquid when heated, increased pressure is created in the cooling system, which also leads to an increase in the boiling point of the coolant. The pressure is limited by a valve located in the expansion tank cap, which opens at a pressure of 1.2-1.5 bar. For the flawless functioning of the engine cooling system, an increased boiling point of the coolant is required. At a low boiling point, a vapor lock can form, as a result of which the circulation of the liquid is reduced and engine cooling is impaired. Therefore, the cooling system must be filled with a mixture of water and additives all year round.
Only G-011-V8C or concentrate marked "in accordance with TLVW 774 B" should be used as water additives.
Ratio of coolant components in percentage:
The freezing temperature of the coolant in our latitudes should not be higher than -25°C.
