Attention: Check the strength of the fastening of the battery, as the service life of the battery is reduced when it wobbles.
Cleaning the battery poles
During regular inspection of the vehicle, it is also necessary to clean and treat with acid-resistant protective grease the poles and connecting terminals of the battery.
Check with your hand the strength of the fastening of the positive battery cable, tighten the fastening of the wire if necessary.
Battery conservation
An unused battery discharges itself over time. If the car is not used for a long time, the following measures must be taken:
Check the state of charge of the battery and recharge the battery if necessary.
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery so that it is not discharged through permanently connected devices, such as watches.
Recharge the battery every 3 months.
Attention: Check the state of charge of older batteries at shorter intervals. Do not leave the battery in a discharged state, as its plates are damaged.
Checking the electrolyte level
Caution: Do not expose the battery to naked flames. Explosive!
The fluid level in the battery must be between the marks «MAX» and «MIN».
If required, top up the fluid level to the prescribed level. If there are no level marks, then the liquid level should be 6 mm above the top edge of the battery plates.
Caution: Use only distilled water to top up the level.
