Removal
Turn off the ignition, the ignition key in position "0".
Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the battery.
Caution: This will erase the contents of electronic memory devices, such as the memory device for engine fault codes or radio codes. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in the section "Removal and installation the battery".
Using an Allen key, unscrew the 2 bolts securing the airbag assembly from the back of the steering wheel. Lift the airbag assembly and disconnect the connector from the back.
Installation
Caution: If the airbag has deployed, the steering wheel must be replaced. Pay attention to the precautions when working with the airbag.
Connect the plug to the inflatable cushion unit; it should audibly lock into place.
Insert the cushion assembly and tighten the 2 new mounting bolts to 7 Nm.
First turn on the ignition, then connect the ground (-) wire to the battery.
Caution: There should be no people in the car when connecting the battery.
If available, adjust the clock and also enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
