Attention: To replace the steering rods, the steering gear must be removed. Workshop work!
Removing
Loosen the tie rod end nut.
Remove the tie rod joint pin from the swivel arm using a standard puller -A-.
Loosen the locknut securing the tip to the tie rod.
Remove tip from tie rod. When removing the tie rod end, count the revolutions so that when installing the new tie rod end, screw in the same number of revolutions.
Installation
Screw the new tip into the tie rod by the same number of turns.
Tighten the locknut securing the tip to the tie rod to 50 Nm.
Insert the tie rod joint pin into the swing arm and tighten with a new self-locking nut to 35 Nm.
