Removing
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Loosen the alternator mounting bolts and, depending on the configuration, the power steering pump and remove the drive belts. Remove the power steering pump without disconnecting the hoses and place the pump on the left side of the engine compartment.
Turn the crankshaft so that the piston of the 1st cylinder is at TDC.
Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt.
Remove the front toothed belt guards and loosen the belt tension.
Note. Do not rotate the crankshaft until the final installation of the oil pump.
Remove the crankshaft pulley and camshaft drive belt.
Remove the oil level dipstick.
Drain the oil from the engine crankcase.
Slightly unscrew the front bolts of the gearbox subframe.
Remove oil sump.
Remove the oil receiver tube with the oil receiver.
Remove the front crankshaft oil seal holder together with the oil pump.
Installation
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly, while:
- put the protrusions of the drive gear on the flats of the crankshaft coupling;
- replace gaskets;
- correctly install the camshaft drive belt and adjust its tension;
- adjust the tension of the belts of the generator drive and the power steering pump;
- fill the engine with oil and check the oil level.
