Tire pressure monitoring (VW Golf 5)

As an optional extra, Golf cars can be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system. This system uses the wheel speed data received from the ABS sensors and determines the wheel circumference. A change in the wheel circumference is considered by the system as a drop in pressure, which is signaled by a warning light on the instrument panel.



There is another tire pressure monitoring system on the automotive equipment market. In this case, the pressure is monitored by sensors installed in the tires.

For this system to function, it is necessary to first set a fairly large number of different parameters concerning the tires.

RTF tires are available for sale. These tires, thanks to special sidewall reinforcement, retain their shape in the event of a sudden loss of pressure and the car remains controllable.

At a speed of about 80 kilometers per hour, with such a tire you can travel up to 250 kilometers.

RTF tyres may only be installed on models equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system.
