The brake booster cannot be repaired, since special tools are required for disassembly and assembly. The failure of the booster does not mean a loss of braking power, but only an increase in the physical effort required to press the brake pedal so that the braking distance remains the same.
The operating principle of the brake booster can be checked as follows.
With the engine off, press the brake pedal several times until all vacuum is released from the system.
Press the brake pedal as hard as you can and start the engine.
If the brake booster is working properly, you will notice how the brake pedal returns to its original position.
The brake booster can be removed by unscrewing the nuts attached to the four studs on the inside of the vehicle. Care must be taken to ensure that a suitable brake servo is installed.
