- Disconnect the battery.
- Place a jack under the gearbox. It is convenient to use a winch that serves to lift the engine.
- Remove the left transmission mount.
- Disconnect the speedometer drive flexible shaft sheath from the right side of the crankcase. Instead of the removed bolt, a plug must be screwed in to prevent oil from pouring out.
- Unscrew the bolts accessible from above connecting the engine to the gearbox. Disconnect the reversing light switch electrical wire.
- In the case of installing a switch for the indicator of gear selection and fuel consumption, disconnect the plug of its connector
- Disconnect the clutch cable from the transmission bracket and from the clutch fork.
- To disconnect the gear selector lever, you need to release the retainer on the plastic tip with a screwdriver and pull the hinges out of the lever. Check if all connections of the lever to the gearbox are disconnected (pic. 335).
- Remove the starter by removing the cover and unscrewing the three mounting bolts. Disconnect the wire from the gearbox «masses».
- Remove the rear gearbox mount by unscrewing the bracket and removing the rubber mount.
- Disconnect the right and left drive shafts from the main gear. Use a special socket wrench to loosen the bolts. Tie the drive shafts with wire so that they do not interfere with further work.
- From the bottom side, remove the lower crankcase cover, flywheel, so that the cover remains on the engine. The smaller cover must be removed completely.
- A bolt is installed next to the cover, which also needs to be unscrewed.
- Turn away from below all bolts connecting the engine with a transmission.
- Using an assistant, move the gearbox as far as possible to the right until it is free of the pins and separates from the clutch housing.
- Lower the gearbox carefully.
- The gearbox is installed in the reverse order, tightening torques - see table. 4.
