Inclusion "neutral"
Reset "gas", push the gearshift lever in the direction "neutral". You can depress the accelerator pedal a little if "failure", when the car is moving.
Starting off
Turn off the engine, turn on the 1st or 2nd gear, acting on the starter. "Volkswagen" pulls away at the same time as the engine is started.
Switch up
Engage 1st gear, act on the starter and pull away. Only to a limited extent allow an increase in the number of revolutions above the idle speed (about 1000 min). Slightly reduce the gas, set the lever to the position "neutral". Release the accelerator pedal, push the lever slightly in the direction of 2nd gear. With the right engine and gearbox speeds, this happens almost independently. If you have been waiting too long, depress the accelerator pedal a little so that you can shift into gear without grinding. If it does not work out, you should stop the car again and try to repeat everything from the very beginning. At the following speeds, upshifting is carried out in the same way. Shifting is easiest at very low speeds:
- to 2nd speed at a maximum of 20 km / h;
- to 3rd gear at 25 km/h:
- to 4th gear at 35 km/h:
- to 5th gear at 45 km/h.
Switching down
In this case, the engine speed should be increased so that the next lower gear can be engaged. Raise your foot slightly off the accelerator pedal, turn on "neutral", carefully add "gas" and at the same time push the lever in the direction of low gear.
When the engine speed is correctly set, shifting is easy, with almost no additional pressure. Downshifting is best done at low RPMs and speeds.
