Remove the lock parts.
The button together with the lock cylinder can now be removed, as these parts are secured by one of the already removed bolts.
If the spacer washer fell out during disassembly, it must be inserted between the lock and the lock cylinder during assembly. This will ensure that the lock cylinder is in a horizontal position. And only in this position can it function normally.
In the Jetta model: remove the connecting rod (from push button to lock).
Unscrew the two lock screws.
To remove the lock cylinder, remove the lock connecting rod.
Remove both Phillips head screws from the main plate of the lock cylinder.
In all models: the lock cylinder and push button are not separated.
When installing, do not forget about the seal between the push button and the cutout in the trunk lid.

Installing the lock pin
Loosen the lock pin bolts slightly.
Close the boot lid, which will centre the lock pin.
Open the trunk lid and tighten the lock pin bolts securely.
Turn the rubber stop of the lid inward or outward accordingly.
