Checking and adjusting the timing V-belts is not required, as the spring-loaded tensioner automatically maintains the correct belt tension.
Removing
1. Before removing, note the direction of movement of the V-belt. To do this, put an arrow on it with a fat pencil.
2. Rotate the tensioner lever with a pry bar or a large screwdriver against the action of the tension spring and remove the timing V-belt.

3. Place a pry bar between the two lugs of the belt tensioner and turn the tensioner to the right until the V-ribbed toothed belt is loose enough to be removed from the tensioner. Then loosen the belt tensioner from above and remove the V-ribbed toothed belt.
Installation
1. If an old belt is being installed, pay attention to the direction of its old movement. It should only be installed in this direction.
2. Put on the toothed V-belt. Turn the tension roller lever with a pry bar or a large screwdriver in the opposite direction to the tension spring and put the belt on the tension roller. Then slowly release the belt tensioner.

Removal and installation
1. Loosen the alternator mounting bolts.
2. Push the generator upside down.
3. Remove or put on V-ribbed toothed belt.
4. After installing the V-ribbed timing belt, rotate the engine with the generator loosened several times (about 10 turns). To turn the engine with a starter, use outside help. In this case, the gearbox must be in neutral position, the handbrake is tightened.
5. Tighten the alternator screws to 25 Nm.
