General principles of operation
46. Although the choke is manual in the sense that the air damper is opened and closed manually via a cable, it nevertheless has some elements of an automatic choke.
47. A bimetallic spring is installed on the air damper axis, which reacts to the ambient temperature.
48. The bimetallic spring controls the temperature at which the air damper closes.
49. At low temperatures, the spring tension increases, and at high temperatures, it decreases.
50. At temperatures above 17°C, the air damper will remain slightly open even with the choke handle pulled out all the way.

51. Screw the choke cable into the clamp on the choke lever.
52. The choke handle must be pushed all the way in, and the lever must rest against the stop.
53. Pull the choke cable all the way out, then carefully move it inward to remove all slack.
54. From this position, push the cable through the clamp roller a maximum of 0.5 mm and then tighten the clamp screw.
55. Check that when the choke handle is pushed all the way in, there is a gap between the stepped disc and the plastic friction lining.
56. When the choke handle is fully pulled out, the air damper lever should touch the stop or have a maximum play of 0.5 mm relative to it.
57. Check that the choke indicator light comes on when the choke handle is fully pulled out and goes out when the handle is pushed in.
