Leak test
Caution! The fuel system is under pressure! To avoid injury and skin contact, wear safety glasses and protective clothing. Before disconnecting the system elements, the connection point must be wrapped with a rag. Then relieve the pressure by carefully disconnecting the hose.
Verification condition:
- Fuel pressure should be normal, check:
- Remove the connectors (arrows) from all injectors.
- Release the injector wiring harness.
- Unscrew the fuel rail from the intake manifold.
- Remove the fuel rail with injectors from the intake manifold (the fuel line remains connected).

- Remove fuse SC 43 from fuse box C.
- Remove the electric fuel pump relay 2 (J49) from the relay box under the left dash panel.
- Connect the remote control (push-button switch) to contact 7/87 (5) of the electric fuel pump relay 2 (J49) and to the positive terminal of the battery.
This operation is necessary only to ensure the operation of the fuel pump when the engine is not running.
Checking the tightness of the injectors (visual inspection).
When the pump is running, only 1-2 drops of fuel per minute can flow out of the injectors.
If more fuel is leaking, then the leaky injector needs to be replaced.
When installing injectors, use only new sealing rings.
Checking the amount of fuel injected
Verification conditions:
- Fuel pressure should be ok, check:
- The injectors are installed in the fuel rail and the fuel line is connected.
- Position the nozzle so that the sprayed fuel is completely captured by the measuring container.
- Remove the electric fuel pump relay 2 (J49) from the relay box under the left dash panel.
- Connect the remote control (push-button switch) to contact 7/87 (5) of the electric fuel pump relay 2 (J49) and to the positive terminal of the battery.
- Connect one of the injector contacts to the engine ground.
- Connect the second contact of the connector of the injector being tested via a push-button switch to the positive terminal of the battery.
- Press and hold the remote control switch button for 30 seconds.
- Repeat the test on other injectors. For other injectors, you should use other measuring capacities.
- Compare the volume of injected fuel. Set value: 85-105 ml for each nozzle.
When checking the amount of fuel injected, the shape of the sprayed fuel torch is also checked. The torch shape must be the same for all nozzles.
The jet of sprayed fuel should be the same for all injectors.
If the measured value of the fuel quantity for one or more injectors goes beyond the nominal value range in one direction or another, replace the faulty injector.
