Removal and installation the brake caliper (FN 3) (VW Caddy 3)

Removal

Work is carried out only for replacement or subsequent repair of the brake caliper.

Remove the wheels.

Use a screwdriver to pry the support spring out of the brake caliper.

Disconnect the electrical connector of the brake pad wear sensor cable.

Connect the air bleeder hose to the caliper bleeder nipple and loosen the bleeder nipple.

Install the spacer.

Tighten the fitting and disconnect the hose from the air removal container.

Unscrew the brake hose.

Remove both caps from the caliper guide bushings.

Unscrew and remove both guides from the brake caliper.

Remove the caliper from the brake caliper.

Remove the pads from the brake caliper.

Installation

The piston is recessed into the cylinder.

The outer shoe is installed in the brake caliper.

Insert the inner brake shoe with the retaining spring into the brake caliper (piston).

When installing, glue the pad only when it is in the proper position in the caliper.

Avoid damaging the adhesive layer.

Using two guides, screw the brake caliper to the bracket.

Install both protective caps.

Screw the brake hose to the caliper.

Remove the spacer.

Install the support spring into the brake caliper.

Connect the brake pad wear sensor cable connectors.

Bleed the brake system

Install the wheels.

Tightening torques:

• Guides to brake caliper: 30 Nm.
• Brake hose to caliper: 35 Nm.
