Adjusting the parking brake (VW Caddy 3)

Adjustment is only necessary after replacing the cables, caliper and brake discs.

1. Remove the ashtray bracket.

2. Press the brake pedal at least three times.

3. Apply and release the parking brake at least 3 times.

4. Release the parking brake.

The distance (a) to the stop (2) on the left and right calipers must be within 1.3 mm.

6. Make sure both wheels turn freely.

The adjusting nut must be screwed on so that at least one turn of the rod thread is visible, otherwise the fixation of the nut is not guaranteed.

After completing these steps, the automatic parking brake adjustment mechanism will provide the clearance necessary for its normal operation.
