The seals can be replaced with the gearbox installed.
Removal
Remove the wheel cap, pull the cotter pin out of the axle shaft, loosen the castle nut.
Caution: To avoid injury, do not loosen the castle nut on a vehicle supported by supports (it might fall off its supports!).
Raise the car, place it on supports, remove the wheel together with the brake drum.
Remove the brake pads, disconnect the parking brake cable and loosen the clamps on the brake hoses (see chapter "Brake system").
Remove the cover from the brake support and hang it on the wire.
Remove the rear wheel hub bearing.
Mark the position of the elastic lever relative to the axle shaft boot support flange (see above).

Loosen the hex bolts on the support flange and on the bottom of the shock absorber. Loosen the nuts on the axle bearing cover.
Lift the axle shaft cover from the outside, install the bearing cover at an angle and push it out beyond the frame opening (see arrow). Pull the boot off the axle shaft.
Remove the oil seal.
Installation
Thoroughly clean and inspect all parts and mating surfaces. Lubricate the axle shaft boot hemisphere inside and out with M0S2-based paste. Install spacers of the same thickness and a new oil seal.
Caution! First, place the spacer washers on the bearing cover, then tighten the seal. Otherwise, misalignment of the spacer washers may cause a leak.
Install the axle shaft boot and lightly tighten the opposite bearing cap nuts. Rock the axle shaft boot in all directions. At the same time, it should not catch or get pinched on anything. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 20 Nm (2.0 kgfm).
Secure the axle shaft boot support flange according to the marks.
Install the bearing into the rear wheel hub, brake support housing, and hub bearing cover.
Connect the parking brake cable.
Install the brake hose holder, install the brake drum with the wheel, screw on the crown nut without tightening it.
If the brake hose was disconnected, bleed the brakes (see section "Bleeding the brake system").
Adjust the parking brake (see section "Adjusting the parking brake").
Adjust the service brake.
Lower the vehicle and tighten the castle nut to 350 N⋅m (35.0 kg⋅cm). If necessary, turn the nut until the cotter pin can be inserted. Cotter pin the nut. Install the wheel cover.
