Engage 2nd gear and loosen the bolts on the shift support.
Caution! When performing the following work, the engine and gearbox must be separated using the clutch. The assistant presses the clutch pedal.
Set the gear shift lever to 2nd gear. In this case, it should be positioned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and tilted backwards at an angle of approximately 11°.
1 - shift support; 2 - thrust plate; 3 - gear shift lever
Using a screwdriver, move the thrust plate under the shift support until it rests against the belt on the gear shift lever (see arrow). The lever should not move in this position.
Tighten the bolts on the shift support. Now the gearshift lever, when engaged in 2nd gear, should allow its lateral movement, measured at the lever handle, to be approximately 1520 mm.
Shift through each gear several times. Switching must be carried out strictly at a right angle, following the switching pattern. Diagonal movement of the lever is not allowed. The gears should shift easily and without sticking. Pay special attention to the effectiveness of the reverse lock.
Pull the boot over the shift support.
