Removing
Remove flywheel (see above section "Removal and installation of a flywheel").
Remove the cuff with a screwdriver.
Attention! Work carefully so as not to damage the cuff hole in the crankcase!
Check the flywheel for signs of wear on the working surfaces of the chamfers for the cuff.
Installation
Clean the hole in the crankcase and chamfer with a triangular file.
Lightly grease the hole surface with Curil sealing paste.
Install a new cuff using a special mandrel VW 204b. To do this, screw the mandrel into the crankshaft and put the cuff on the guide rod. Install the cuff and remove the mandrel.
If no mandrel is available, the cuff can be carefully inserted with light hammer blows through the wood spacer.
Lubricate the edges of the cuff with oil.
Install flywheel.
