Check the removed piston for damage and signs of wear.

Carefully remove carbon deposits from the piston bottom without damaging the surface of the bottom. A small contact spot on the piston working surface can be caused by incorrectly installed connecting rods.

Replace damaged pistons and pistons with burnt rings along with the cylinder liners.

The nominal diameter of the piston is stamped on its bottom. The measurement is taken using a micrometer on the lower edge of the piston skirt, perpendicular to the axis of the piston pin.

The installation gap of a new piston is 0.04-0.06 mm, the wear limit is 0.2 mm.
