Thoroughly clean the valve seat in the cylinder head and insert the valve into its guide bushing.
Applying slight pressure to the valve plate, turn it approximately a quarter of a turn and remove it.
A circular contact patch observed on the seating surface of the cylinder head allows one to conclude that the valve seat is tight. If the seating surface is evenly coated with lapping paint over the entire surface, then the valve seat is sealed. If there are still spots without paint, you need to continue rubbing until you achieve the desired result.
Checking with valves installed
Install the cylinder head so that both intake ports and the exhaust port are facing upward.

Pour some kerosene into the channels. With sealed valves, kerosene should not spill into the combustion chambers.
