Attention! Before servicing or repairing the glass cleaner, turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock to avoid personal injury.
Front glass cleaner
The cleaner brush consists of a rubber band fixed in metal holders.
Removing
1. Install the brush holders in «service» position by turning off the ignition and holding the wiper switch down for 10 seconds, or by briefly pressing it.
2. Take away the lever with a brush from a windshield.
3. Install the rubber band 1 at right angles to the lever 2 and remove it (see arrow in illustration).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. For Golf cars, a longer brush is mounted on the lever on the driver's side.
Rear window cleaner
Removing
4. Take away the lever with a brush from back glass.
5. Set the rubber band of the brush at a right angle to the arm.
6. Press the tape all the way (see arrow A in the illustration), to release the leash 2.
7. Move the leash 2 in the direction of the arrow B and remove the brush from the lever 1 by pushing it in the direction of the arrow C (see illustration 11.6).
Installation
8. Slide the brush onto the lug of the lever.
9. Rotate the brush in the opposite direction and set it parallel to the lever.
10. Move the leash and fix it.
Touran cars. windshield wiper
Removing
11. Take away the screen wiper lever together with a brush from glass.
12. Install the brush at right angles to the lever.
13. Press the lock of the leash A, remove the brush holder B from the lever by pulling down (see arrows in illustration).
Attention! Both wiper blades as an assembly and rubber bands for the wipers are available for sale separately. If only the rubber band is being replaced, do not bend the band holder when replacing.
14. Squeeze both steel guide strips with pliers and release the tape fastening brackets at the upper end of the brush.
Then open the brackets along the entire length of the brush and remove the rubber band along with the steel guides (see illustration).
Installation
15. Attach the new rubber band to the brackets without installing the guide rails.
16. Place both guide bars on the end of the rubber band so that the tabs on the guides face the band and fit into the grooves.
17. Squeeze both guides on the rubber band with pliers and secure them to the upper end of the brush by inserting the fastening brackets into the locking holes (see arrow in illustration).
18. Slide the brush onto the lever and secure it to the holding hook.
19. Return the wiper arm to its original position.
Pay attention to the fact that the rubber band adheres to the glass along its entire length. Bend the lever carefully if necessary.
