When the parking brake is applied and the ignition is on, the brake warning light comes on.
To release the parking brake, pull the lever up a little, press the lock button and fully press the lever down.
Warning: To prevent the vehicle from rolling uncontrollably, you must always apply the parking brake firmly after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. Additionally, engage one of the gears of the manual transmission or put the automatic transmission selector in position "R".
Warning: Do not forget that the applied parking brake must be fully released before driving. Incompletely released parking brake causes overheating of the brake mechanisms, which adversely affects the braking performance. In addition, this leads to accelerated wear of the rear brake linings.
