Reverse gear should only be engaged when the vehicle is at a complete stop. With the engine running, fully depress the clutch pedal for a few moments to avoid noise when shifting into gear.
When the reverse gear is engaged and the ignition is on, the reverse lights come on.
Warning: While driving, the driver's right hand must not be constantly on the gear lever handle; the force from the weight of the hand is transferred to the shift forks, which can lead to accelerated wear of the forks.
