Cruise control (VW Golf 4)

To free the driver from the need to use the accelerator pedal to maintain the desired speed, cruise control is used, which ensures a constant set speed above 30 km/h, if only the engine can provide it.

Warning: Cruise control should not be used in heavy traffic or adverse road conditions (icy road, poor wet road grip, gravel surface).

When the cruise control is on, do not move the gearshift lever to neutral without disengaging the clutch! Otherwise, the engine will gain very high speeds and this may, under certain circumstances, lead to its breakdown!

On vehicles with automatic transmission, cruise control only functions when the selector is in positions "D", "3" and "2". If any other position ("P", "N", "R" or "1") is selected while driving, the last set speed is erased from memory and cruise control is completely switched off.
