Removal and installation the hood lock (VW Golf 4)

Bonnet Lock Cable Fastening Elements

• 1 - hood lock release cable;
• 2 - sealing sleeve;
• 3 - nut;
• 4 - hood lock release lever;
• 5 - self-tapping screw;
• 6 - bracket;
• 7 - hood lock release cable holder;
• 8 - hood lock

Removal

1. Remove the radiator grille.

2. Remove the front bumper.



3. Unscrew the 5 bolts (arrows) securing the bonnet lock bracket (1) to the front crossmember (2).

4. Remove the hood lock bracket.



5. Using a screwdriver blade (3), disconnect the cable (2) of the bonnet lock (1) from the spring clips (arrow – direction of disconnection of the bonnet lock cable).



6. Disconnect the electrical connector for the microswitch.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
