Disconnect the fixing screws of the pump housing.
Lay the pump down until the shaft disengages and then pull it out completely.
Disconnect the screw of the mounting plate and pull out the bushing located above the pump drive. along with the sealing ring.
The pump is installed in sequence. reverse dismantling. The pump is mounted on the crankcase without a seal. Tighten the screws to a torque of 20 Nm.
Insert the bushing mounted above the pump shaft, together with the O-ring, tighten the bushing fixing plate screw to the torque. equal to 20 Nm. To disassemble the pump, use the figure, which shows the cylinder block without an oil filter. It is installed between the oil filter and its base.
Remove the two short screws from the pump cover.
Remove the cover together with the oil suction pipe.
Remove the drive shaft along with the gear, and also remove the free gear from the housing.
Remove both screws of the oil suction screen from the pump cover and remove the O-ring in the center of the pipe.
Before subjecting the parts to a thorough inspection, clean them properly. If the pump has been dismantled due to low oil pressure, the described work does not need to be carried out. In this case, install a new pump. Maybe you can also use a spare pump.
Check if the oil pump housing is warped. Pressure losses are observed on worn bearing sections, so such a housing must be replaced.
Check gear wear. To measure backlash, insert a feeler gauge between the teeth. The gap should be in the range of 0.05-0.20 mm. if this value is exceeded, the gears must be replaced, or better, the entire pump.
The axial clearance of the gears should be within 0.06-0.15 mm. To measure the clearance, attach a steel square or steel ruler to the surface of the pump housing, as shown in the figure, and use a thickness gauge to measure the distance between the ruler and the end surface of the gears.
Check the tightness of the drive gear shaft in the pump housing. If necessary, re-fasten the shaft by re-punching the end of the shaft with a center punch. Otherwise, replace the pump housing.
Always replace gears in pairs if there are signs of wear or damage to the teeth. Most often, signs of wear are observed on the sides of the teeth in the form of gleaming areas.
When assembling the pump, pay attention to ensure that the surfaces between both faces of the casing are spotlessly clean, before assembling, lubricate all parts with oil, pay special attention to ensure that the gears are covered with oil in order to avoid seizing during the first start-up, check before the pump mounted, whether the gears can turn easily.
