Installing the front wheels (VW Golf 3)

Front wheel alignment (steering wheel angle ratio) must be carried out when the vehicle has its operating weight.

Before carrying out any checks, check that the steering knuckles of the transverse tie rods and the suspension wishbone have no play and are in good condition.

Measurements should be made with optical instruments, but good mechanical instruments are also suitable for this purpose.

We always point out, however, that these measurements and checks should not be carried out unless measuring instruments complying with the instructions are available.

Since the measuring instruments available to you differ from each other, only the basic measuring methods are described. They should be specified and supplemented in accordance with the instructions for use of the instruments concerned.
