The design of the front axle of the new Golf does not imply the setting of the wheel camber. However, if it is nevertheless determined that the wheel camber no longer corresponds to the original values and the front axle is not warped in any way, then the wheel camber should be set in the workshop, since a newly developed tool is used for such an installation. The wheel camber is adjusted by means of a bolted connection between the shock absorber strut and the steering knuckle (wheel bearing housing). For this reason, it is extremely important to accurately mark the installation position of both bolts before loosening the bolted connection.
The wheel camber is measured in the usual way. If the wheel camber is not within the values specified in the table, or if the difference between the left and right sides is more than 30 minutes, then the above adjustment must be made.
