The V-belt must always be tensioned after replacing the coolant pump or crankshaft pulley. The tension of the V-belt is adjusted periodically, as well as in cases of slippage (determined by ear).
The belt tension is checked in the middle between the crankshaft and pump pulleys. At this point, the belt deflection arrow should be 2 mm if it is new, and 5 mm if it has not been replaced (by the force of the hand).
To increase belt tension, loosen the alternator and its bracket, and then slide the alternator out. While holding the generator, tighten the bolts. It is unacceptable to move the generator away with the lever resting against its rear cover.
