After every second full tank, the engine oil level should be checked. During the break-in period or for an older engine with increased oil consumption, the check is carried out at every full tank. The oil dipstick is located at the front at the same height as the fuel pump (see picture).
- Place the machine horizontally.
- After stopping a preheated engine, wait at least 5 minutes to allow all the oil to drain into the oil bath. It is best to check before the first start, when the engine is still cold.
- Pull out the dipstick. Wipe with a clean paper towel. Insert the dipstick again until it stops and pull it out.
- Now you can determine the oil level using the dipstick.
- If the amount of oil only reaches the lower mark, then additional oil should be added to the engine.
Note: If you want to accurately record all your car's oil consumption in a workbook, you should always measure the level in the same place, preferably before the first start. In a diesel engine, the oil becomes dark after only a short period of operation. It contains dirt, particles caused by wear, and soot. At the same time, there may be no external sign that the oil needs to be changed.
