After every second full refueling, the engine oil level should be checked. During the break-in period, or on an older engine with increased oil consumption, the check is made every time the tank is full. The oil dipstick is located at the front at the same height as the fuel pump (see fig.).
- Install the machine horizontally.
- After stopping a preheated engine, wait at least 5 minutes to allow all the oil to drain into the oil bath. It is better to check before the first start, when the engine is still cold.
- Pull out the dipstick. Wipe with a clean paper towel. Insert the dipstick again until it stops and pull it out.
- Now you can determine the oil level on the dipstick.
- If the amount of oil reaches only the lower mark, then it should be additionally poured into the engine.
Instruction. If you want to accurately record all the oil consumption of your car in a workbook, then you should always measure the level in the same place, best of all before the first start. With a diesel engine, the oil becomes dark after a short period of operation. It contains dirt, wear particles and soot. At the same time, there may not be any external sign that the oil should be changed.
