Interior lamp (VW Golf 1)

Spotlight lamp (10W, 41mm DIN length, form K) should light when the driver's door is open and the switch is in the appropriate position. The lamp receives an electric current for a long time. In a better equipped car, there is also a corresponding contact switch for the lamp near the front passenger door.

Disconnect the negative battery cable or remove the interior lamp fuse; otherwise, there is a risk of short circuit.

Remove the lamp housing together with the metal spring from the ceiling cutout (see picture).

Remove the spotlight from its retaining tabs.

When installing, lastly press the side of the lamp where the spring is located into the recess in the ceiling.
