Replacement
There are two types of gas-filled tailgate struts, distinguished by the grooves on the cylinder body. The struts of different types are interchangeable and are supplied under the same part number.
Due to design features, stops of different types are installed differently (A, figure P:22): a stop with one groove on the body is attached with a rod to the body, and with the body to the tailgate; a stop with two grooves on the body - on the contrary.
To detach the stop from the tailgate (B, figure P:22), remove the retainer from the joint and separate the ball head from the pin in the direction shown by the arrow (B, figure P:22).
